Alumni Association of SSM Polytechnic College, Tirur is on the right track in all matters as to strengthen our institution, in all respects. The major strengths and celebrities, which bring fame to our institution globally, is the one, “OUR ALUMNI”. We have pleasure to furnish the following activities/achievements accomplished by Alumni Members.
* “FAST”, the association of SSM Polytechnic Old Students, is functioning very well in Dubai, Sharjah, Abudhabi and Alain.
* First Batch Electronics (1970-73) batch-mates headed by Mr.Kurian Koshy, Senior Joint Derector, Department of Technical Education, Kerala, have initiated an endowment to the BEST ELECTRONICS STUDENT every year. They have opened a joint account with Principal and credited Rs.25,000/- for this purpose. An amount of Rs.2001/- has issued to the best student during the academic year 2005-06. The other member of alumni of this batch are working at Bangalore, USA etc. They have made a visit to our campus last year.
* Around 15 Batch-mates of 1999 Civil Batch, leaded by Mr.Abdul Gafoor (Edapal/Ponnani), who are working in UAE, they also run an OSA Chapter there in UAE, started an endowment to the BEST OUTGOING CIVIL STUDENT every year. An amount of Rs.1000/- has issued to the best student during the academic year 2005-06. Discussion are in progress to extend this endowment to be issued to TWO STUDENTS from the Next Academic year onwards.
* It was proposed to construct an Auditorium for Polytechnic under the sponsorship of “Alumni Association”. Mr. K Musthafa, Former HOD, Civil Engg., prepared a plan and estimate of Rs.35 Lakhs for this Project and movements were initiated in this connection. Presently the Construction Works are kept pending.
* Mr. Unnikrishna Pillai (1987, Mechanical) who is presently The Managing Director of Gayathri Home Equipments, Chennai donated Rs. 1 Lakh for this Project.
* Mr. Dileep (1984-87, Civil) who is presently Managing Director to a Leading construction firm in Dubai, UAE Offered Rs. 2 Lakhs for Auditorium construction.
* We propose to Setup a Global Manpower Supply Station in collaboration with FAST, UAE ( Association of Old Students of SSM Poly ), thereby initiating for overseas outsourcing for MNC’s and promoting placement for our products worldwide.
